Provide services that ensure youth safety, enhance life functioning, and reconnect youth and families with the community.
As our agency responds to the needs of the community,
your ongoing support is appreciated!
We are so very proud of this young lady & how hard she has worked to identify & achieve her personal goals!
"I just feel like I'm really showing up for myself now.
I'm doing so much better. If my past self could
see me today...she would be proud.
Because she'll know that she's gonna be alright." -- JS
Thanks to all of the very loyal & generous donors who contributed to our Southwest Louisiana Giving Day campaign this year! This enclosed playground area at our Family Resource Center is one of three outdoor recreation projects we're working to upgrade & enhance for the youth & families we serve at each ETC facility!
"I know what it's like to do without. We didn't have much when I was growing up. God has taken care of me and I'm called to turn around and help others." -- Willie DeJean
The residents of our Transitional Living Program have been working on a vegetable garden this spring.
We are all anxiously awaiting the fruits of their labor!
Across all ETC programs, we serve approximately 100 families in the 5-parish region of SWLA at any given time. We could ALWAYS use more loyal supporters like YOU to ensure we can continue to grow and serve as many youth and families as possible for years to come!
ETC was founded in 1975 on the basic premise that community involvement and support is essential for resolving community problems. Early in our history, ETC identified troubled youth and their families as an under-served and vulnerable population within our community.
From our humble beginnings, the agency grew steadily through the decades. In 1985, ETC opened Harbour House, The Emergency Shelter for Children,
to fulfill a community need for a safe place for youth in crisis.
Today, ETC offers two Residential Programs, as well as multiple Community Outreach Programs which have a positive impact on our community. Our programs offer hope to families who are struggling with difficult circumstances. Identifying and building upon youth and family strengths, we offer prevention and intervention efforts
to continue our goal of “helping people live better lives”.
There is no financial obligation to clients to participate in any ETC services.
